::::: Incorporating UX into an office concept :::::
I was tasked with designing a new facility for Navico in Miami, Florida, and I made it a priority to consider the user experience throughout the process.
To incorporate UX into the interior concept, I started by gaining an understanding of our users and their needs. For example, John, a product specialist who conducts workshops to demonstrate the setup of our electronics, spends up to 8 hours a day in the room. Visitors, who could be boat builders or consumers, also spend considerable time in the space. By using tools and best practices in marine electronics training, we aim to create a comfortable and functional environment for all users.

During my discussions with the product specialists, I gained valuable insights into their current work practices and identified several challenges. These included inadequate lighting on the products, customer and consumer belongings cluttering the floor, a layout that did not facilitate clear demonstration visibility for visitors, limited adaptability for conference use, and inflexibility in room arrangement.

::::: The Solution :::::
Upon entering the training room, users will immediately have access to a designated area to store their belongings and enjoy a morning beverage, such as coffee or tea, before beginning their 8-hour training session. The flooring in this area is spill-resistant and easy to clean.

John faced a challenge with inflexible lighting. To address this, we installed a lighting system that can be adjusted to highlight the products and work as a spotlight when other lights are turned off. We also ensured flexibility of space by incorporating collapsible product units and tables that can be easily converted into a conference room. Additionally, stackable chairs were included for convenient storage.

Cameras are mounted on the product displays to project them onto a large screen and to live-stream them for a broader audience, thus providing adaptability. Additionally, this feature can be utilized for webinars and social media presence, benefitting the marketing team. Moreover, it addresses the issue of low visibility on products for visitors and offers a uniform experience for every participant.

In the demo rooms the main focus was to capture the brand essence. These rooms would be used to demo products and it was pivotal that the user felt familiar upon exploring.
